Our philanthropic activities have resulted in many quilts and quilted
items being made by our members to be given where the need is
greatest at the time.  Recipients have ranged from Ronald McDonald
House to the OMC Pediatric Department, various programs for
abused women and children, senior centers, Hospice House of the
Foothills, Helping Hands of Clemson, Habitat for Humanity, cancer
treatment patients, and therapy dolls for pediatric patients at
MUSC in Charleston. Disaster relief has also been a focus for our
philanthropy and includes recipients in Hurricane Sandy, Bosnia,
Sarajevo, Katrina, Haiti, and the earthquake in Japan.  We also
make patriotic quilts to give to Wounded Warriors from the wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan.  For each Habitat for Humanity Home
Dedication in our area, we make a small wall-hanging.  We have
adopted Lakeview Assisted Living and have committed to make a
monthly donation to be used to provide for needs and extra treats
to the residents there.  Each year, we make and fill about 100
stockings which are distributed to various organizations locally.
Often times, ths is the only Christmas present the recipient
receives.  A charity auction of member's donated quilted items is
held during each Quilt Show, and all of the cash proceeds are
distributed in our area. Our Daily Bread, Helping Hands of Clemson,
Rosa Clark Clinic, and Lakeview Assisted Living are recent
recipients of these funds.

And so it goes--much remains the same as envisioned and begun 26
years ago by a few women.  Some things change as the years go by
and conditions warrant, but the love of guild members for quilting
and each other remains constant.
